Wasia Project - the musical collaboration between siblings Will Gao and Olivia Hardy - make songs that ache with feeling. This year, the British-Chinese duo released their debut album, Nocturne, drawing acclaim for its blend of classical and jazz influences with contemporary pop.

Gao is best known for his role in Netflix’s smash hit Heartstopper as Tao Xu - his yearning, earnest performance on screen finds a natural echo in his music. Anchored by Hardy’s angelic voice, songs including ur so pretty, Vogue and recent single Whale Call move between intimacy and grand emotion.

The duo are renowned for spellbinding live shows where “sonic fluidity and cinematic texture melt together”, as Rolling Stones UK put it, and recently finished a North American tour supporting fellow musical shapeshifter Laufey.

Now, following the intimate 2026 ‘Piano Shows’ in Sydney, Wasia Project return for their first full-band show in the country. Expect their intricate, stirring songs to take on a whole new dimension: moody and textured, Nocturne is an ode to the creative energy of the night, which for all its darkness is full of stars.
