Canberra trio SAFIA present their ambitious new show ‘Live at First Light - In Concert’. For the first time, SAFIA will perform songs across their entire catalogue reimagined with live strings at the iconic City Recital Hall in Sydney.

In a one-night only event, the concert will feature a bespoke stage design and take listeners on expansive journey inspired by their Live at First Light performance film set in the Australian wilderness at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve.

SAFIA have always dreamed big. Since they formed in Canberra in 2012 and broke out a year later with the hugely successful single ‘Listen To Soul, Listen To Blues’, the trio of Ben Woolner (vocals/keys), Michael Bell (drums), and Harry Sayers (guitars/keys) have crafted music that stretches imaginations and traverses new sonic landscapes.

They’ve since amassed over 200 million streams, including two Platinum certified singles ‘Make Them Wheels Roll’ and ‘Embracing Me’, and multiple Gold certified singles ‘Starlight’, ‘My Love Is Gone’, ‘Counting Sheep’, ‘Together, Locked Safely’ and ‘Over You’.

The band has built a revered reputation for their live shows, with sold out shows and festival appearances across Australia, New Zealand, US, UK, Europe and China.

Don’t miss this rare chance to experience SAFIA in the iconic City Recital Hall, presented by Great Southern Nights.

Supporting Safia is Jerome Blazé

Jerome Blazé is Sydney’s sonic architect. His eclectic solo is an embrace of the imperfect and the people around him, refracting electronic, soul and neoclassical through birdsong and golden hour sunlight. Between working as a producer and songwriter and researching and lecturing in popular music, Blazé’s many musical inputs feed his own singular musical output.

2024 saw the release of Blazé’s sophomore album, Living Room. Made entirely in Blazé’s untreated living room, the album marks a turn to soulful and groove driven influences, attempting to capture Sydney sonically and placing collaboration at the forefront of the music. After moving to Sydney to study music, Blazé began working as a producer, gathering credits for Nick Ward, FRIDAY*, Odette, Thandi Phoenix, Paul Mac, commercial work for Louis Vuitton and Melbourne Fashion Week and touring as a keys player for Ngaiire. Blazé sold out his debut headline show and has brought his unique live set to support slots for Nick Ward, Ngaiire and Lola Scott, two fully allocated shows at Phoenix Central Park.
