City Recital Hall welcomes Marc Broussard for his Australian debut on April 16, 2025. Renowned for his soulful blend of Louisiana R&B, rock, and blues, Broussard brings a unique energy that NPR describes as a “radiant fusion” of southern soul and infectious rock ‘n’ roll.

Hailing from Lafayette, Louisiana, Marc grew up in the rich musical tradition of his father, Ted Broussard of The Boogie Kings, and honed his craft in the vibrant local scene. His major-label debut album, Carencro, put him on the map with the hit single “Home” and launched him into a distinguished career that has captivated fans worldwide.

On this special evening, Broussard will perform classics and new material from Time is a Thief, his latest studio album, which showcases his evolving artistry with emotionally charged lyrics and signature southern sound. Known for his powerful stage presence and raw authenticity, Marc’s performances offer a heartfelt experience for audiences that is as unforgettable as it is moving. Don’t miss this rare chance to experience Marc Broussard live, as he shares the sounds and stories of Louisiana with Sydney.

Supporting Marc Broussard is Karen Lee Andrews.

Karen Lee Andrews is in possession of a unique sense of artistic purpose. Surrounded by music her entire life, Karen’s career to date has largely revolved around classic soul and rhythm and blues sounds. But in recent years, as her musicality has evolved, she’s been leaning more towards blues with a nod to dirty rock and power ballads. The influence of soul, gospel and Karen’s Polynesian background continues to inform what she does, but the blues has come to feel more like home. Karen and her band spend nearly every weekend travelling the east coast of Australia, appearing at Woodford Folk Festival, Queenscliff Music Festival and Bello Winter Music and supporting icons such as Jimmy Barnes and Gregory Porter.
