Ben Frost is Australia’s best-known experimental music export.
Based in Reykjavík since 2005, Ben will play to a home crowd for the first time in five years, bringing the Australian debut of his stunning new album Scope Neglect on Mute Records to City Recital Hall. Scope Neglect live is a collaboration with US guitarist Greg Kubacki of progressive metal outfit Carbomb, and this wild new A/V show fuses the crushing deconstruction of metal and dark ambient with intricate texture and rhythm, the duo taking the highest effort to create an utterly unique and immersive multisensory experience. Scope Neglect follows Ben’s latest works for stage, internationally acclaimed installation projects, and film collaborations including his renowned score for Netflix's Dark.
Supporting Ben Frost is JWPaton.
JWPATON is a Yuin composer living and working on the unceded lands of the Darug Nation. Using electronics and field recordings he explores the contrast between abstract ambience and harsh textures. Delving into ancient futurism and the ouroboroi of nature and technology, rural and urban, past and present.
