This event has sold out.

City Recital Hall and Ragazzi Wine and Pasta are partnering up this summer to couple exquisite food and wine with exceptional live music in the laneways. This is the ideal summer treat where you can relax outside with a tipple and soak up some live music that we have all missed so much.

First up, on Saturday January 30, we have Songs of the Cities performed by Duo Histoire.

Let award-winning musicians Nick Russoniello and Murilo Tanouye take you from a laneway in Sydney to the tango halls of Argentina, the streets of São Paulo and the salons of Paris. Featuring the music of Claude Debussy, Louis Bonfá and Astor Piazzolla.

Entry is via Pitt Street.

Duo Histoire is one of Australia’s most sought-after ensembles. This engaging and virtuosic duo bring Argentinian tango, Spanish classics, Bossa Nova and evocative Australian music to the concert stage with a warmth and connection to the audience that has won them a following across the country.

Both musicians are known for their diversity of experience and depth of talent. Award-winning artist Russoniello, the recipient of the 2011 ABC Symphony Australia Young Performer of the Year, has had his original compositions performed internationally and has appeared as a soloist with the Adelaide, Queensland, Melbourne and Sydney Symphony Orchestras. Tanouye, born in Brazil, studied in the United States before moving to Australia, where he has collaborated with a variety of ensembles across the region in recent years.

Recently the Duo has recorded for ABC Classic FM, broadcast for Fine Music 102.5FM, performed at the Sydney Opera House for the prestigious Utzon Room Series and toured for Musica Viva. The Duo’s new album Autumn/Winter can be heard regularly on ABC Classic FM, Radio National and Fine Music 102.5.
